Let’s just start with the money shot…Christina and I got married Sunday afternoon (2/25) on Hidden Beach in Carmel, CA. It was a very small, private, casual ceremony as we both wanted
With that established, let’s back-up. We drive the corvette to our rented beach home and packed every single corner of it
That’s right…all of this fit in the back of the Corvette. Years of Tetris paid off yet again
Since the house literally sits on the beach facing the ocean, it is only accessible from the rear (giggity). Up a ramp…and tis picture does not do justice to the incline.
So, the trick is to use these community-provided carts
It’s not ideal, but it gets the job done…with just a little fear
Add in a little drama, and eventually the luggage arrives
Once we got settled, Christina decided the windows needed to have some salt air cleaned off of them so that we could enjoy the view. So….she got to it
She even found a mini-squeegee to make sure we could enjoy the view
The day before the wedding we spent with Christina’s family, who flew in from Texas and had never really experienced Monterey, so of course we did the 17-mile-drive
And my mother-in-law photo bombed us
Which just thrilled Christina to death…notice the expression on my face never changes. If this radio thing doesn’t work out I’m going to become a figure at Madame Tussauds.
On the morning of the wedding, I made us some sausage and an egg scramble as we enjoyed the ocean view and each other
We also had some champagne to start the day…you decide which is the more artful photo; this one…
Or is this the more artful photo? (Christina votes this one most creepy)
While enjoying the view we saw a few people with dogs…first up a few labs, not black like ours, but still labs…
And then not moments later, a German Shepherd just like ours…a sign? Probably not…probably just a coincidence, but a lot you people like crap like this
Finally, we arrived at the wedding site and began scoping out the beauty
One thing we realized was that the beach was so “hidden,” it wasn’t exactly accessible for Dawn and her broken ankle who worked her ass off to get down to the ceremony site
At this point, I am not sure if Christina’s dad is giving his wife a look or Dawn…could be either
And then there’s the standing around trying to get things going part…
My dad is finding all of this amusing
Prior to the wedding, a quick call to my stock broker
Eventually, the wedding happened (took about 10 minutes total)
After the ceremony, we took a nice walk along the beach (our first as man and wife)
And then, Christina was ready to go! I believe she’s yelling at her mother to get it together here…
And then we were off…back to the house for our post-wedding celebration, which we’ll show you next week!
