We spent Veteran’s Day weekend in Napa and were immediately the victims of eye rape as this Christmas village was being erected along Highway 29. No, no and no.
We stayed in a gorgeous room at the Hotel Yountville

On Thursday night we were headed out to an amazing Yountville restaurant called Ad-Hoc, and yes, that’s Seinfeld on the TV in the background
One of the coolest things seemingly everywhere we went there was non-stop support for all of the first responders who helped saved countless homes and property throughout the Napa Valley

Friday was our day to do whatever we wanted so we started at Domaine Chandon and had some sparkling wine
From there, we headed to the newly renovated Trefethen
We wound at Bistro Don Giovanni having some amazing pizza, pasta and, yes, French fries. Go figure
Friday night we got cleaned up and headed out to dinner
Bottega in Yountville rarely disappoints
Back in the room, I thought “IT,” would be fun to watch a movie…Christina did not agree
Saturday was the big day of wine tasting so we started at Gillwoods in St Helena with a great breakfast and some mimosas that you can see I’m very excited by
Then we got dressed and ready to head out for our winery tours
We got a limo for the day so we could go from place to place and not worry about driving
We started at Hall winery in St Helena
Christina trying to figure out the sound system in the limo to get it to link to her cellphone was quite the adventure
In fact, in culminated with a full tutorial/lecture from our limo driver (who got it to work, BTW)
Needing nibbles between wineries, I made sure to work my way through a bag of pretzels

We made our way to Romabuer, where Maggot Megan works and had set us up on an amazing tour
That’s us with KR Rombauer, whose father built the business and now KR oversees it and is an amazing ambassador and a great guy
KR took us behind the scenes to see the amazingly modern equipment they’re using to make their amazing wines

I even stuck my head in an empty tank and listened to the echo of myself saying “ellloooooo”
More of the gorgeous scenery at Rombauer included the caves and the barrels and the infamous wine bottle tree

We finished the day at Del Dotto in St Helena, where they pour you way too much amazing wine. If you don’t end your day at Del Dotto, Del Dotto ends your day.
We have no idea why our limo driver thought these were good photos to take…
