Review: Smile

Brandon’s Entertainment Review:

In theaters now

Smile is the perfect psychological thriller to usher in the spooky season!  With a plot that is similar to movies like The Ring or The Grudge, a demonic entity spreads through traumatic experiences through witnesses of suicide.  After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.  The theater was riveted with each build up to a scare and the titular facial expressions are haunting throughout.  There is hardly a dull moment, the concept is simple but not campy.  Sit back, enjoy the ride, and try not to look away.  The climax of Smile reveals the demonic entity in physical form, and it is GRUESOME.  Smile will definitely be in my regular rotation to get in the mood for Halloween.  Thumbs up!!
