Dawn’s Reviews:
Ozark Season 3 on Netflix
Jason Bateman just keeps delivering in Ozark!! Love. This. Show. With only 3 seasons so far this would be a great show to binge watch during our Shelter in place days. Trust me it will be a great escape that will keep you intrigued.. so Season 3 takes us to the Byrdes, Marty (Jason Bateman) and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) kinda working on opposite sides of each other without the other knowing. Wendy getting them deeper in bed with the Cartel and Marty just trying to run their Casino while money laundering for the Kansas City Mob. The Byrde Family continues to have high standing in their community while actually being dirty criminals! Each episode seems to go by really fast, there is so much happening in each one you really have to sit and pay attention. The shit that goes down with Wendy and her brother, dark and heartbreaking, the FBI continuing to investigate the family, and too many plots and twists to mention…I don’t want to ruin any of this Season for you!!
Holy CRAP…the ending of Season 3…the last few seconds are worth the WHOLE season! Mouth open and shock…holy mother blanker holy mother blanker cuss word cuss word cuss word!!!! To have to wait who knows how long now for Season 4 to find out where this is going after that kind of ending is maddening, maddening I tell you!!!!!!! Big old thumbs up for this show!!!!
Mrs. America on FX/Hulu
I’m not really sure how I feel about this series. On one hand as a woman I am grateful for all the women that fought for my equal rights. Watching some of the shit that women had to go thru is maddening… knowing the sexism I’ve seen in my days and now seeing all the great differences from when I was a kid to how things are for my nieces and female god kiddos, night and day..thank God. However all this doesn’t mean that Women are less than if they stay at home, raise their kids and prefer a more traditional family life. Its all about choices. And all those women that fought for our rights, need to realize they fought for all Women’s rights and choices even if different from theirs.
The sad thing about the Women’s Movement is you only belong if you are a Femi nazi liberal. Huh??? Didn’t you fight for equality? Inclusion? So wouldn’t that include a Conservative woman? I’d say it would. Even with differing views we women are stronger together than divided…but I digress lol!! Back to the review…lol!!
This Series is based around the true story to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and the unexpected backlash led by conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly who rallied the nations housewives to stop the then seemingly invincible ERA. So far 3 episodes have been released, and the cast is pretty darn great…. Cate Blanchett plays Phyllis Schlafly, Rose Byrne plays Gloria Steinem, Uzo Aduba plays Shirley Chisholm and the list goes on and on you will see one familiar actor after another! It’s crazy to watch how different it is for us now compared to then however the dirtiness of politics sadly still exists.
For now I give this series a thumbs up but we will see if I change my mind as more episodes are released lol!!!
