Brandon’s Review:
I was hooked on this new Netflix series, Love, Death & Robots, from the beginning! This isn’t your average animated show. This 18-part animated anthology is dark, funny, graphic, sexual, violent, heart-wrenching and brilliantly made. Each episode ranges from 7-15 minutes. While the episodes are short and animated, they are NOT KID FRIENDLY. There are a lot of episodes that looks like the vignette from one of your kid’s video games like Call Of Duty, each story is deep and contains themes made for adults. In fact, I imagine plenty of nerds crusted up plenty of socks due to the nudity in a lot of the scenes.
This series reminded me a lot of an animated version of Black Mirror. It’s a collection of animated short stories in various genres, including science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy. Not one episode is alike, while there are some themes that are recurring, but I don’t want to give anything away. I absolutely loved all 18 episodes and I think you will too.
