Brandon’s Entertainment Review of
In Theaters Now
As a kid, and as an adult, Ghostbusters was and is one of my favorite franchises of all time. I had all the toys including my own proton pack, a ghost trap, a replica firehouse, the pajamas, the shirts, and I wore out the VHS tapes from countless viewings. I even enjoyed the Real Ghostbusters cartoons (yes, I still enjoy it to this day, too). The entertainment provided by the Ghostbusters has been timeless. It was kismet that I watched the newest installment on the birthday of Harold Ramis (November 21st), one of the writers/creators and my favorite Ghostbuster. This is the movie that the fans have been waiting for! Not only did Jason Reitman (son of Ivan Reitman who led franchise in the first two installments) do justice by calling back to the originals, but he perfectly sets the stage for the new generation of Ghostbusters. I might be slightly biased in my review, but for those Ghostbusting purists, you will NOT be disappointed and the wait was well worth it. Not to mention, the homage that the filmmakers and cast pay to the late Harold Ramis was extremely touching. I also highly recommend catching Ghostbusters: Afterlife in IMAX for the ultimate experience. HUGE THUMBS UP!!!
