Back we go to Williams Manor and the seeming never ending task of getting it just right…here’s our kitchen cooking island
AAAGHHHH!! What happened to our stove and drawers?
Hey, that’s not where those go!
And here we have the completed project…an idea, BTW, conceived by my wife and loved by me
It’s a custom designed 2 inch thick maple cutting board
It simply pulls up and then rests on metal rails that you can’t see unless you kneel down and look (and it supports 100+ pounds safely)
Remember that “dog room,” of ours? Yes, we have an entire room where we feed our dogs, but it’s actually more of a storage room
Finally the room is organized…and yes, all of that canned chicken is for the dogs. They eat better than half the humans in America
The sign makes it official
While my wife was at a baby shower this weekend, my job was to finish hanging all artwork. This is our wedding alcove, including a photo from our celebration party, the Tahoe Blue favors given out, and a signed bottle of Rombauer Wine from the winery itself. Note: The level has been removed as have most of the Tahoe Blue since it looked a little too “frat house,” but you get the idea
As for why I hung everything while Christina was gone, this is why. Girls freak out when men do men stuff
Standing atop a 15 foot extension ladder hanging a picture half the size of me would have elicited cries of “baaaabbbeeess you’re going to kill yourself.”
Always practicing guy-land safety rules, I made sure each step was littered with a tool-based land mine to make it more fun
In the end, the staircase that leads down to our backyard and garage is now lined with much of collectible animation art
The pics are lined up so they’re near eye level as people ascend and descend; Looney Tunes, Simpsons, and more
More Looney Tunes and Family Guy along the opposite wall!
