We returned home from Hawaii and had a few days of peace as the pack of Williams dogs were in a coma from Dogwoods Resort. Can you spot all four of them?
The coma, of course, was a result of all four of them, Scout, Maestro, Callie and Nellie spending a week with Theresa at doggie Heaven on Earth, Dog-Woods Resort in Garden Valley, CA.
When we brought them home, my wife, Christina gave our usually white German Shepherd, Nellie a cleaning (with the help of Scout)
Why does Nellie need to be cleaned when she comes home from Dog-Woods? Because she does this all day long
While Nellie scratched her back, Scout, Callie and Maestro went for a run
Eventually, Nellie caught up to them and the pack continued on with their day
Along the way, Callie no doubt did something annoying, as she is wont to do, and Maestro had to put her in check as Nellie pretended to help and Scout ignored the proceedings entirely
In fact, Scout made his way to his favorite cedar and scratched himself (no seriously…he seeks this tree out every time for a scratch)
Eventually, just like at home, Maestro has had enough and tries to get some alone time as Callie clings to him and stalks him
Eventually, Maestro breaks free and gets some alone time
Callie begins stalking the rest of the pack and is caught in the act of trailing Nellie
Callie has now joined up with Scout and Nellie much to their chagrin. Having never had a proper pack before, Callie craves it almost constantly and has net yet learned that alone time is good too.
Eventually, the pack is back and the sniffing resumes
Back home, Scout tries to help us unpack
Oh yay…look, my mom has stopped by for dinner. Glorious
Since she was there, I decided to make a nice meal of beef tenderloin, shrimp, salad, and corn
After dinner, mom decided to steal the labs from me
Their usual spot is on the sofa with me…traitors
After dinner, dessert was served in the form of root beer floats
Mom was nice enough to leave behind this passive aggressive gift, letting us know that we’re not keeping up with the dog hair in the house
This is feeding time at the manor. They all sit patiently and wait, even with the food right in front of their face.
Scout had to go to the vet for his annual check-up and Maestro spent the entire time at the top of the stairs waiting for his best buddy to return
And then there was this weekend, when we returned home from dinner with friends to find this on my office floor…
What is it, you ask? A package of Amazon, which was sitting on my desk, sealed. Callie was nice enough to open it (A federal crime) and eat the package of 25 bouillon cubes we had ordered. She spent most of the night drinking gallon after gallon of water. She’s still a work in progress…and I have to order more bouillon…
