Hey look, it’s The Three Amigos!  No, not the three cowboy movie stars from the silent movie era (Dusty Bottoms, Lucky Day and Ned Nederlander)… it’s Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez!  The obvious team members in the comedy veterans of the cast team up with the unsuspected Selena Gomez to star in this comedy/drama/murder mystery on Hulu. The three of them join forces over the love of a true crime podcast to create their own podcast to document the murder and it’s investigation.  The theme around podcasting and the impact it has had on pop culture was extra humorous for someone in the industry.

This show was a little slow for me and what I thought was going to be a cookie cutter comedy turns out to have a lot more depth and character development than anticipated.  There is a great cameo from the one and only Sting, who lives in the same apartment building and is accused of murder by the three. After a slow burn at the start, I find myself looking forward to the latest release each week!  For those of you reading this from the future, consider yourself lucky that all of the episodes are available to binge.

Three strangers share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.
