German Shepherds, Maestro and Nellie, along with Black Lab Scout, were once again recently in the hills between Reno and Sacramento at DogWoods resort…Loyal listener Theresa is amazing with the pups and has been so thankful for all of the RAD listeners who have trusted her with their dogs! Dog Woods can be reached at 530-333-2117. Or check out their website, www.dog-woodsresort.com . Christina and I wouldn’t trust our animals to anyone else and you shouldn’t either.
When at Dogwoods, there’s play to be had, which means messy, muddy dogs when they’re done with the day as Maestro demonstrates with his paws here
Let’s back up…prior to getting muddy, they get more than a little excited to be released from their exorbitantly large pen
Once loose on the 18 acres, they explore and separate
Eventually the Williams pack targets Jackson as their toy
Eventually the Williams pack targets Jackson as their toy
Before too long, Maestro has caught up with Jackson to let him know it is, in fact, playtime
Before too long, re-enforcements and an audience arrive
For a brief moment, Jackson escapes
Quickly, Jackson is run down
And quickly it’s a literal dog pile
In the end, for the record, Jackson lived and they all remained muddy friends
Back at Williams Manor, Maestro is perched atop the stairs…
…With a rubber ball in his mouth as he prepares for his new favorite game
I only had to sit at the bottom of the stairs for 10 seconds before the game began…he opens his mouth…
…releasing the ball and allowing gravity and the stairs to take over
And he just sits there and watches it tumble down. A few minutes later, he’ll get up and either get it, or do something else. WEIRDO
Elsewhere in dog news at Williams Manor, Maestro and Scout have their life vests for safety first when swimming
They’re both very patriotic dogs, as you can see (And you’ll notice how much bigger Maestro is than Scout
The vest for Maestro is getting good use as his progress of learning to get in and out of the pool safely continues, and he enjoys swimming! (Hot wife on other end of the leash not pictured)
Meanwhile, Scout’s vest is dry as our Black Lab, a natural water dog, continues to show no interest in getting in the swimming pool. Sigh.
