Due to some health issues brought on by a stomach parasite, my wife and I spent a lot of our vacation nursing each other after bouts of “sick” happening from both ends… Fortunately, we had our animals to keep us company while we sheltered up at the house. We did manage to get out a couple times before New Years Eve, but it was all over after that. For the full story, head over and listen to Episode 58 of the RAD Prodcast .
Here are the few photos we managed to get while on our two week holiday vacation. Enjoy!
Over Christmas vacation, Walter (right) the Treeing Walker Coonhound turned 6 years old on Christmas Eve. Opie (right) the 4 month old German Shepherd is keeping him young.
Just for fun, over the break we took a “#glowup” picture to show how much Opie has grown since we got her at 2 months and again at 4 months.
This photo was taken on the Friday before our vacation at my feet where I stand in the production studio. Lazy bums, these two.
Back at home, Walter is getting cozy and staying warm with one of our 5 cats. This one is named Ellie and loves the dogs.
Those are some good dog/cat cuddles.
Clearly these animals do not get along at all.
The space heater is their best friend. Notice the bengal cat (named Switch) leaning her face up against Walter’s back to keep warm.
The gathering around the space heater never ends during these cold Northern California days.
It’s Christmas Eve and it’s time to put the presents around the Christmas Tree. Walter is making sure his presents don’t get tampered with.
Christmas morning quickly arrived and the dogs got to open up their presents first. Lots of toys, bones, treats, antlers and new dog bowls!
Opie was very excited to celebrate her first Christmas.
Pictured here is my wife and I “enjoying” our time at a local family arcade place where we were spending some time with my wife’s younger cousins on their last day visiting in town. We are “thrilled” to be surrounded by children.
Another rare photo of the two of us getting ready to go to our friend’s house for New Years Eve. Hours later after this photo was taken, we rang in the New Year from the ER due to a stomach parasite we contracted at the family arcade buffet. Won’t be doing that again.
Switch the bengal cat keeps me company after one of my many trips to the bathroom.
Here are two of our latest cats who we fostered and then adopted, because we are suckers. The top cat is Hermey. The bottom cat is Higgins.
Opie soon got restless and decided to start jumping on top of our picnic bench in the backyard. She’s a goof.
To close, here are some artsy pictures of Opie getting sappy with Ellie the cat.
