Brandon’s Entertainment Review of
Finch

Full disclosure. I did not want to like this movie. At first glance, while watching the preview, I was turned off by Tom Hanks’ character in general. Nothing in particular, other than his soft spoken-ness (which is just a pet peeve of mine, I admit. It turns out that his voice was like that for a reason) and of the anecdotal evidence that Tom Hanks is actually a jerk in real life. Tom Hanks also seems like the kind of person who would not like dogs in real life, so I went into this viewing jaded as f***. Knowing that the majority of the plot was going to tug at my heart strings since a dog is one of the main players, I went into the movie with a less jaded heart and I came out the other side a blubbering mess. Not only did Tom Hanks do a fantastic job as his role as the titular character, Finch, but the robot named Jeff and his dog Goodyear absolutely stole the show! This film has a ton of heart, humor, suspense and will most certainly tug at your feelers. I’d suggest that you might be dead inside if you are not moved in the slightest. I highly recommend this movie! Big thumbs up!
