The Blue Queen – Drinking With The Maggots Recipe
from Meg G.
Here’s my recipe for my favorite drink! I created it when I was a bartender MANY years ago in college. I changed it up to use Tahoe Blue and the result is AWESOME. In honor of my favorite cast member, I have named it “The Blue Queen”. Love you Queenie! Hope you enjoy!
- 3 Ounces Tahoe Blue Vodka
- 1 Ounce Tuaca
- 2 Ounces Cranberry Juice
- Three Lemon Wedges
- 2 Ounces Sparking Water (Raspberry Bubbly is my favorite to use)
- Ice
Muddle the lemon wedges in a pint glass with ice. Add vodka, tuaca and cranberry juice. Shake. Top with sparkling water and enjoy!!
Our resident bartender, Kyle, provides his twist on the drink as follows:
This is a vodka based drink so you can mix it up a few different ways.
To make it sweeter, substitute the sparkling water with sprite or during the holidays substitute with cranberry flavored sprite or 7up.
Make a sugar rim on the outside but with crushed Lemon Heads (dust). Looks great in a martini glass and a lemon rind twisted for flair.
Now instead of the Tuaca you can add blue Curacao- it’s a flavored liqueur that has a similar taste with a bitter orange bite. It also makes the cocktail blue like the name.
