My German Shepherds, Maestro and Nellie were once again recently in the hills between Reno and Sacramento at Dogwoods resort. Loyal listener Theresa is amazing with the pups and has been so thankful for all of the RAD listeners who have trusted her with their dogs! Dog Woods can be reached at 530-333-2117. Or check out their website,www.dog-woodsresort.com . We wouldn’t trust our animals to anyone else and you shouldn’t either.
Round 3
What the hell is this? Two Nellie’s Am I seeing double?
One of the many great things about Dogwoods is the socialization with other dogs and the daily relay races like this
Here’s Brandon’s dog Walter (on the left) showing you his best side (and Nellie doing the same next to him…rude)
Here we have, left to right, Brandon’s dog, Walter, Nellie, and what appears to be a dead dog that may or may not be my puppy Maestro.
Here we have the classic way of saying hello at Dogwoods…a good butt sniffing
And apparently Maestro likes what he smells. Dogs are gross.
One thing everyone notices and loves about Maestro is that he is absolutely fearless, including around bigger dogs
Oooh! Ooh! It’s a staring contest
Aerial view of the staring contest
Boy they are really taking this seriously, aren’t they
Apparently Maestro lost the staring contest and the sore winner gets the tub and sticks his tongue out…jerk.
We end with a nice close-up profile shot of Maestro…he’s going to be a beauty.
Round 2
Time to play a new game! It’s called “Find the real dog,” somewhere in there is Maestro at 4 months old while visiting Dogwoods
Here, Nellie the princess poses while out on the grounds
Well that’s rude Nellie…I taught you better than to stick your tongue out
Nellie says “this is my good side, thank you”
Take a good look at this picture…Nellie weighs in at 85 pounds. Look at the size of that thing on the left! Is that a hairy Elk?
This is one of the greatest parts of Dogwoods. Not only do they all have big, fenced areas (about an acre each) complete with a sheltered home, every day they all head out with Theresa onto the property and socialize and play
Ummm…am I the only one who thinks this looks like a picture of terrorist dogs leaving behind a gas can bomb they’ve just lit the fuse on?
Maestro and Nellie have decided to take a swim…
Oh, darnit…Nellie got water in her ear. Quick Nellie! Jump up and down too!
With Nellie dealing with her water ear, Maestro has the pool to himselfWith Nellie dealing with her water ear, Maestro has the pool to himself
Anytime Maestro sees a dog that looks anything like and is bigger, he walks up to him and says “are you my paw?” HA! GET IT? I kill me
Round 1
Puppy Maestro (about 4 months and 40 pounds here) made lots of new friends during his visit
And the play wrestling has begun
If you don’t think this is the cutest thing ever, you’re a member of Isis
Time for a game of hide and seek
Maestro is losing
Wait…now he’s winning. Maybe he’ll be a good search and rescue dog
One of the great things about Dogwoods is that it teaches the pups important lessons like “sharing is caring.”
See? Two puppies can enjoy the same toy!
Another life lesson early for Maestro…new friends will often betray you
And now, the public shaming of Maestro
Here’s another new friend…let’s see if he’s nicer
AHA! A truly loyal new friend who helps Maestro gang up on the toy stealer
And the winners are…Maestro and the bulldog!
Oh look, Nellie has finally made an appearance and Maestro says “Hey bitch, why didn’t you have my back?”
And this is what Nellie thought of Maestro’s question
Nellie always enjoys a good back scratch whenever she’s at Dogwoods
I don’t know what exactly is going on here…looks like round two of the wrestling match. Either way, I know Maestro and Nellie had a blast as always at Dogwoods
